Listen to the Kansas Science Hearings on Audible.com

Listen free (brief registration required) to the first three days of the Kansas Science Hearings on www.audible.com.

Don't miss the intelligent design witnesses squirming under a series of withering cross-examinations by Science Coalition attorney Pedro Irigonegaray.

Also available:
  • What's the Matter With Kansas
  • Scientific American Special Edition: Evolution
  • The Great Tennessee Monkey Trial

Hey, do you suppose Kathy Martin and Connie Morris would have listened to the majority draft of the science standards, even if they wouldn't read it?

  1. Say, are you trying to get me fired from my job? I have a hundred exams to grade by the end of today, and now you're dangling this in front of me? My God, man! I've been howling with laughter at the stuff you've been posting already, but there's part of me that can only handle it by thinking that it's all just a big hoax. I'm not sure I can handle the audio recordings of this madness, because it will demonstrate that this is all too real....

"Brief registration required"... yeah, right. Actually, it is a "book club" membership for which you must provide your credit card number, which will be automatically billed unless you figure out how to withdraw before the grace period expires.

You can DL the files without giving out any billing information but it's hidden pretty well...

First klick on the tiny "FREE AUDIO: Kansas Evolution Hearing" in the middle of the page.

Then you get to the "Day 1" page where you're asked again to register. Don't do it.

Klick on the "Day 2" link.

Now the register thingy is gone and you can klick "add to cart".

Now klick on the "Day 1" link and add this one to the cart". Same for "Day 3".

When you have added all 3 files to your cart, klick on the "shopping cart" icon on the top of the page.

You can now register without having to enter any billing information.

The files will be added to "My Library" (which you have access to once registred).

There you can download the damn things but not before you installed their proprietary player software. When you download it, it will start up the player software and it takes a few seconds before the DL window will appear.

So yeah, it's just a brief registration but it took me an hour to figure out how to do it without signing up to their stupid book club thingy.

  4. RSR is sorry if readers got bogged down trying to listen to the audio of the hearings. We'd just like to note that we have no connection with audio.com -- just to make it as clear as possible, we are not advertisers and recieve no money or any other considerations from them. This site is free of advertising and the information was provided for information only. We're glad the previous commenter figured out how to do it, we're not that technically proficient.
