Restoring Credibility

“Anyone who has observed the state board over the last four years can see that they are not functioning very well,” says moderate school board candidate Jack Wempe. “I visited 48 school districts and 150 buildings during my campaign, and I can assure you the board has a large amount of credibility issues out there. You can’t lead with no credibility, and that is the No. 1 issue. The greater issue is the inability of this board to lead public education. Public education is the heart of democracy.”

Wempe told the Newton Kansan (reg. req.) the board needs to do complete review of policies, not only to try and reduce the amount of conflict and to try and add to the board credibility, but also to help school districts.
