Question Authority

"Students should be able to debate and discuss these kinds of issues. Anyone who says students shouldn't is, I think, the group that has some kind of agenda," says creationist Debora Owens Fink who is pushing for the Ohio school board to approve curriculum changes designed to undermine science by encouraging students to question the validity of evolution, stem cell research and global warming.

Do you suppose Owens Fink would support a proposal to teach students the value of condoms in preventing unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease? Surely, she'd want students to be able to debate and discuss these kinds of issues, too.

Could it be, the people with an agenda are the ones who want to undermine science education by writing their ludicrous extreme right-wing religious beliefs into the science standards?
