Blond and Beautiful
Wanting to hear some different voices from the university audiences who have attended most of the screenings of his film "Flock of Dodos: The Evolution -- Intelligent Design Circus," Randy Olson recently showed the film in Midland, Texas, the birthplace of Laura Bush.
During the question and answer period after one of the screenings, two women excitedly told Olson a blond joke they thought was relevant to the film.
According to Olson, the joke goes like this:
Two blondes are sitting outside at night in Texas staring at the moon.
"Which is closer to us, the moon or Florida?" says one.
"Well, duh," says the other, "you can't see Florida from here."
The joke, says Olson, reminded him of Kathy Martin (another blonde) saying that we can't believe land vertebrates evolved from fish because no one was there to see the fish emerge from the water.
