Innovations

Education Commissioner Michael Brown Bob Corkins stirred controversy once again when he proposed a reorganization of the department of education. He said he wanted to create a new deputy education commissioner charged with studying school innovations.

But what innovations?

"I can only reach the conclusion from what the man talks about," Sue Gamble, a moderate Republican board member from Shawnee told (reg. req.) the Topeka Capitol-Journal. "The only innovative things he talks about are vouchers and charter schools... "
