Dawkins Joins American Secular Coalition Advisory Board

Richard Dawkins, the famed British scientist and author of The Selfish Gene and The Blind Watchmaker among many other books, has joined the advisory board of the Secular Coalition for America.

“Richard Dawkins embodies our commitment to promoting reason and science as the most reliable methods for understanding the universe and improving the human condition,” says Lori Lipman Brown, director of the Secular Coalition for America.

“His international perspective will assist the Secular Coalition for America in tackling the irrational barriers that inhibit the exploration of scientific arenas such as stem cell research,” adds Lipman Brown.

The Secular Coalition for America is a Washington-based lobbying organization for atheists, humanists, freethinkers, and other nontheistic Americans.

Our coalition’s mission is to increase the visibility and respectability of nontheistic viewpoints in the United States and to protect and strengthen the secular character of our government as the best guarantee of freedom for all.
