Vetting Scarecrows
The "Dissent from Darwin" petition being circulated by the Discovery Institute may not include many working biologists among its signatories, but it does include the signatures of three KU Medical Center doctors: James Harbrecht, clinical assistant professor of cardiology; Gregory Ator, associate professor of head and neck surgery; and Jeanne Drisko, clinical assistant professor of alternative medicine, according to the Lawrence Journal-World.
“There’s no doubt that these scientists represent a minority, but it is a growing minority,” said Robert Crowther, spokesman for the Discovery Institute, which started the petition. Signatures are vetted to ensure those who sign have doctoral degrees, Crowther said.Ah, but were they vetted to see if they have a brain?
