Who Does God Listen To?
This comment was appended to a post we wrote yesterday, titled "Double Standard." We thought it was well-written, and important enough to pull out of the comments section and post here:
This states the problem well. It's not the Christian faith of the fundamentalists that is being opposed, rather it is the determined effort to impose their religious beliefs -- by writing them into our laws -- that is sparking this fight.
Skeptics, like RSR, and people of faith must work together to prevent the fundamentalists from imposing their will on the rest of us.
Never confuse the actions of these people with genuine, heartfelt Christianity. Read Galatians 5:13 - 6:2 if you don't understand what I mean. Instead, they have chosen to worship a form of political power which they, in their pride, call Christianity. But it really IS something else. They glory in the opportunity to impose their will upon others, and from their actions, they must pray for it daily. No genuine Christian would ever dream that God listens to such a prayer. Someone DOES listen, however, and that's who these people are really worshipping. Stop Hijacking My Faith!
