Kansas: All School Districts Left Behind

With the Kansas State Board of Education preparing to discuss the expansion of charter schools and the creation of vouchers, Kansas superintendents are making one request - to be involved in the process, writes Dave Stephens in The Hutchinson News.
In a letter written to the state school board and Education Commissioner Bob Corkins, more than 40 superintendents, from schools belonging to the Educational Services and Staff Development Association of Central Kansas, ask the state's top education officials to refocus their energy.

"We cannot afford to continue with a divisive atmosphere among the board and with the educational community," the letter reads. "It is both counterproductive and energy diverting."
