Demystifying How Intelligent Design Works

HowStuffWorks, a widely recognized source for clear, reliable explanations of how everything around us actually works -- based on a popular series of books -- has helped demystify the world for millions of curious people.

Now, millions of curious people can learn how intelligent design works, too.

HowStuffWorks notes that "statements from ID movement leaders call greatly on religion. Phillip E. Johnson of the Discovery Institute, speaking of the purpose of the ID movement, has said:
The objective ... is to convince people that Darwinism is inherently atheistic, thus shifting the debate from creationism vs. evolution to the existence of God vs. the non-existence of God. From there people are introduced to 'the truth' of the Bible and then 'the question of sin' and finally 'introduced to Jesus' [ref].

Looks like HowStuffWorks put their finger on it. You can read the whole thing here.

Thanks to RSR reader RW for calling our attention to this highly informative new addition to the web-based resources on intelligent design. RW recommends the section, "Related HowStufWorks Articles," where they list their pieces on aliens and Bigfoot. Under the "More Great links" section, they include the letter introducing the Flying Spaghetti Monster, as well as Talk.Origins.
