The Bottomless Pit of What They Don't Know

Garden City, Kansas USD 457 school board member John Scheopner says technology has poked holes in Darwin's evolution, and evolution has "too many unanswered questions." For example, he said, the advent of carbon dating has shown the ages of fossils creates doubts in Darwin's timeline of evolution.

Thanks to RSR reader jackwill who called our attention to this little nugget of misinformation faithfully recorded by Kursten Phelps in the Garden City Telegram.

As all RSR readers are undoubtedly already aware, radiocarbon dating is used to determine the age of organic materials based on their content of the radioisotope carbon-14. It is reliable up to 40,000 years.
