Kansas Board Approves Science Standards
The Kansas State Board of Education voted today, as expected, to approve new science standards that criticise evolution. The 6-4 vote clears the way to send the intelligent design friendly standards to the Mid-Continent Research for Education and Learning, in Denver for review. Following that review, the board is expected to give final approval to the standards perhaps as early as October.
The majority of the science standards writing committee, which opposed the inclusion of antiscientific intelligent design and creationist arguments against evolution in the standards asked to have their names removed from the standards and the board agreed.
