Reinforcements Arrive
Niall Shanks, a prominent defender of evolution, and the author of "God, the Devil, and Darwin: A Critique of Intelligent Design Theory'' is on his way to Wichita State to take a professorship on the history and philosophy of evolution.Shanks presence in Kansas is likely to shake things up in the battle with the Kansas State School Board. A veteran of many debates with creationist and intelligent desingn advocates, he is on record as saying the boycott of the hearings was a "a huge, stupid mistake."
"Not debating people is a very dangerous tactic," Shanks says. "Then they go unchallenged."
