Pimp My Standards
The Discovery Institute and John Calvert's Intelligent Design Network have both set up websites to convince the people of Kansas that the new state science standards -- rated "the nation’s worst science standards for public schools" by the Thomas B. Fordham Institute -- are a big improvement.
RSR believes that the right-wing school board members who forced through the standards over the objections of their own writing committee and the Kansas Association of Teachers of Science, who say the standards replace science with religion -- and who now fear the wrath of Kansas voters as a result -- might have done better if they'd hired Xzibit and the good people at West Coast Customs to take their standards from dirt to pimped.
