Duck and Cover

Kansans with children of school age might want to assume the position advised by airlines in the event of a crash landing.

According to The Lawrence Journal-World:

Kansas Education Commissioner Bob Corkins today will unveil his reorganization plan for the state education department, including the selection of two new deputy commissioners.

Corkins plans to select a deputy for learning services to replace Alexa Posny, who left earlier this year to be director of the Office of Special Education Programs with the U.S. Department of Education.

And Corkins will announce the selection of a deputy for school innovations, a new position that has stirred opposition from some members of the State Board of Education.

A deputy for school innovations, eh? Coming from this board and that education commissioner that sound truly ominous.
